Stanley Herbert Scrivener
Born in 1904, Stanley Herbert Scrivener was the son of Alfred Thomas and Eliza Scrivener. He married Lily Silvester in 1930. The wedding was reported in the Auckland Star, Volume LXI, Issue 109, 10 May 1930, Page 15.
SCRIVENER—SILVESTER. The wedding was celebrated at the Morrinsville Methodist Church on Wednesday of Miss Lily Florence Silvester, third daughter of Mr. C. Silvester, of Hangawera Road, Morrinsville, to Mr. Stanley Herbert Scrivener, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Scrivener, of Snell Street, Morrinsville. The Rev. F. Gardner Brown officiated and Miss L. Best played the wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white crepe chine, with lace overskirt, and her veil of tulle was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of pink and white chrysanthemums and sprays of maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss D. Milton, of Motumaoho, wore a frock of pink crepe de chine, with headdress of pink tulle, finished with pink rosebuds, and carried a bouquet of pink and white chrysanthemums. Mr. E. J. Ramsay, of Putaruru, was best man. After the .ceremony about 6O guests were entertained. at a reception held at the Lounge Tea Rooms, where the tables were decorated in pink and white. Mrs. R. H. West, sister of the bride, received the guests wearing a frock of fawn repp, trimmed with blue, and blue hat. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. A. T. Scrivener, wore black satin. Among those present were: Mrs. H. Kenyon, sister of the bridegroom, pink repp; Mrs. T. Fitness, sister of the bridegroom, navy blue costume; Mrs R. Fitness, sister of the bridegroom, fawn costume; Miss P. Silvester, sister of the bride, fawn repp; Mrs. Arthur Scrivener, fawn costume.
